- Volga has been approved for a $40,000 Small-Town Initiative Endowment Challenge Grant through the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque.
- This grant is funded by an anonymous donor who grew up in Eastern Iowa.
- Volga is the tenth community to have successfully applied.

As a Leadership Team, we are challenged to raise $200K in local endowment dollars over three years. This will enable us to capture the $40,000 challenge grant and build a $240,000 endowment with an annual payment of $12,000 to better our community. The anonymous donor also awards our team $8,000 in cash for a project when we reach
As a Leadership Team, we are challenged to raise $200K in local endowment dollars over three years. This will enable us to capture the $40,000 challenge grant and build a $240,000 endowment with an annual payment of $12,000 to better our community. The anonymous donor also awards our team $8,000 in cash for a project when we reach $80,000 in local dollars raised and $5,000 for another project when we have $120K raised.
its impact
Once funded, the Shaping Volga Leadership Team will make grants to jump start the brightest ideas for Volga's future. A preliminary survey points to Volga needing signage and bringing back our downtown as first projects. That focus can change over time based on community visions for Volga's future.
